The City of Medford has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Chief of Field Survey to join our Public Works Department! This would be an amazing opportunity if you are looking to join a dedicated team that takes a lot of pride in quality engineering work!
Examples of what you’ll do if you join this dynamic team:
In the field the employee will work with construction contractors, City inspectors, City Public Works crews, and the public. Field work will be performed with state of the art survey instruments and equipment carried in a newer four-wheel drive survey vehicle.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
One (1) year of experience managing and leading a survey field crew; and
Six (6) years of progressively responsible survey experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying/ Geomatics, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems or a specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for four (4) years of experience; or, Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above.
Salary range is $61,954.34 – $79,071.44 DOQE, this includes a comprehensive benefits package, along with FREE 24/7 access to the City’s private gym. Powell Engineering and Consulting is currently looking for a Junior Level Civil Engineer to join our team!
A civil engineering firm, located in the heart of the Rogue Valley in Medford, Oregon, PEC specializes in commercial, industrial, educational, and residential site development as well as capital improvement projects. Our clientele includes architects, developers, commercial contractors, public agencies, and land owners.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in site development
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies

Responsibilities:

  • AutoCAD drafting
  • Site Plan layout and design
  • Stormwater layout and design
  • Fire and Domestic Water layout and design
  • Sanitary Sewer layout and design
  • Civil 3D Site Grading
